The code stores WhatsApp's official wa.me click-to-chat URL. This generator encodes links you provide; it does not host, redirect, or dynamically edit them.
The wa.me link format
wa.me/<country code + number> opens a chat; add ?text=Your%20message to pre-fill the first message. Example: https://wa.me/15551234567?text=Hi%2C%20I%27d%20like%20a%20quote

How does a WhatsApp QR code work?
The code stores a wa.me click-to-chat link that you provide. When someone scans it, WhatsApp opens a chat with that international number, optionally with URL-encoded text already typed. The scanner must still tap Send.
Can I pre-fill the message customers send?
Yes. Add a ?text= parameter and URL-encode the message (JavaScript users can use encodeURIComponent). Example: https://wa.me/15551234567?text=Hi%20%26%20thanks. The QR code preserves that link; it does not send the message automatically.
What number format does wa.me need?
Use the full international number with digits only: country code plus number, such as 15551234567 or 8613800000000. Do not include +, spaces, dashes, extensions, or a local-only number.
Can I make a QR code for a WhatsApp group?
Not on this page. It validates wa.me click-to-chat links for individual numbers, not chat.whatsapp.com group invites. Use a separate QR code for a group invite link and test that invite before sharing it.
Do WhatsApp QR codes expire?
The static QR image does not expire. The destination can stop working if the number is no longer on WhatsApp, or if WhatsApp changes the link behavior. This generator does not provide a dynamic redirect or link editing.
